Hei's Portfolio

Hei, U Hei Shing graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University with BA(Hons) in photography. Having set up Green Studio at 2000, he mainly works for 4A's agencies including McCann Erickson, Leo Burnett, JWT, O&M, BBDO, BatesAsia, EURO RSCG, Publicis, M&C Saatchi, Turn Creative Ltd, wowwowtank... Clients such as Cathy Pacific, HSBC, Citibank, Heng Seng, Sony, Olympus, Convoy, Nike, Adidas, Four Season Hotel, Sun Hung Kai Property, Sino Property, to name just a few. Besides, he co-operates with several magazines such as City magazine, Cosmopolitan, Reader Digest in their like of portraits taking for creaitve people - Alain Mikli, Marc Jacobs, Paolo Zegna, Tom Pecheux, Joaquin Cortes, Taiwan Film directors - Hou Hsiao Hsien and Tsai Ming Liang etc.

In addition to his commercial work for agencies, he also involves himself in some art activites - He held a photo exhibition in 2007 named "Beautiful Inside" with a Japanese visual impaired photographer, which was sponsored by Olympus camera and also a fund raising event for Orbis. Same year, Hei was commissioned to photograph 25 Hong Kong artists and their studio for an art book - "Oasis" published by Asia One, at the same time his first photo book " Flashes from the Past" which themed with retro Hong Kong style photographic studio, was also launched.

Hei has enthusiasm toward photography, good at composition and posing, many of his photos display unconventional trimmings. From layers of blackness to brilliant tones of colour are all within his control. Details make his photographs speak soulfully for themselves. Exceptional and selective are words to vividly describe his way of photography.

Being a vegetarian for over 10 years, Hei is also an animals lover, cinema-goer, loves travelling, now owns a cozy studio with patio full of plants and flowers as well as 5 adorable cats.
